In "Augmented Documentation is real" at the tekom annual conference in 2016 the three innovation leaders showed the benefits of augmented documentation and how it helps to interactively navigate to and intuitively search for content directly at the machine.

And this is how it works:
In TopicPilot, DOCUFY's mobile publication platform, topics, as created by a technical writer, directly lead to specific components of a machine. The RE’FLEKT ONE platform of our augmented reality partner from Munich will then open and the 3D model will be loaded automatically. Users can see the machine's 3D-model as an overlay on top of the live camera image: the Augmented-Reality-mode begins. In the AR view, the selected component is immediately visible, because it is highlighted and the maschine can be viewed from any perspective. Additionally, users can look inside the machine and behind the component by rotating in VR view. Clicking on the component displays information from the Technical Documentation that can then be opened in TopicPilot.
