Touchless gesture control - enabling revolutionary natural user interfaces

For the first time a 3D camera prototype, the CamBoard pico, was integrated into a PC. Things you would normally do with your mouse or a touchscreen can now be accomplished with simple pointing and clicking gestures. Additionally, dedicated gestures support the touchless control of certain menus like the charm in Windows 8.

The CamBoard pico uses an Infineon® 3D Image Sensor, which was jointly developed by Infineon and pmdtechnologies. Revolutionary natural user interfaces (NUIs) are enabled by these integrated depth sensors based on pmd´s Time-of-Flight 3D technology.
That new kind of 3D cameras allow you to move your hands freely in any pose and control your complete PC by sensing even fast and subtle movements of fingers and hand gestures.
